Gillard crean seek end to party factionalism

Crowley was asked by Fairfax Media to clarify his support for Prime Minister Tony Abbott's controversial 'no jab, 바카라 no foul' policies, including his support for Tony Abbott's ban on abortions.

He said he was "disappointed" in Mr Abbott's policies, which Mr Hockey labelled anti-women.

Asked about that by Fairfax Media's Tony Bosnich on the Andrew Bolt radio show, Mr Crowley said he disagreed with the Abbott government's policy but did not find Mr Abbott's comments "unsupportable".

He said any government member and party leader who "admit any sort of sexism or misogyny is out of touch, is not being taken seriously".

"I've been a member of the Liberal Party of Australia for 40 years and I've never heard anybody call a woman a slut, I've never heard anybody call a woman a slut, I've never heard anyone call a woman a bitch, so if anyone, anybody who says anything like that is saying you shouldn't have abortions but women are women - it's not right."

Crowley declined to say if he was one of a small number of Liberal MPs or senators who supported the policy, which Mr Abbott has since called a "no-brainer".

Liberal senators Mike Willkie and Anthony Albanese supported the policy before the election.

Mr Abbott also backed the policy during the campaign.
