They make great throw away characters and maybe that’s my problem with them. I just don’t really feel that the Goliath fits in with the lore of Dungeons & Dragons. Most races are also divided into two or more subraces, together with the hill dwarf, mountain dwarf, high elf, wood elf, dark elf, lightfoot halfling, stout halfling, forest gnome, and rock gnome.
