As you gain experience, you will outgrow some jobs or interests. That is normal. When I started out in Instructional Design classes, we used a textbook that you would flip to different pages as you made various decisions based on branched learning.

This can be a real dilemma, although it gets worse if suddenly you can't be a stay at home mom anymore because your family needs more money coming breaking news for one reason or another. Then it can be urgent.

In order to do more business with existing customers, there have to be consistent strategies in place to educate them about new products and services. In addition, you must understand their business, particularly as it changes, so that it becomes apparent when your products and services can be provided. You must also put practices in play to ask for more business. Complacency is too often the norm when opportunities are in front of us. Companies that implement processes to ensure these things are managed will continue to grow business via the grow strategies.

Invest in your Leadership Development. Books, podcasts and teaching videos cost a lot. But consider them as an investment, in which you will reap the benefits of greater effectiveness and efficiency in your leadership. And when you become a better leader, you can certainly lead people to greater heights and better performance. Doesn't that deserve a salary raise?

Apply what you learn. It is never enough to just read, listen or participate in discussions. It is important for you to apply what you learn. Whenever you learn a new leadership skill, commit to implementing that skill daily until you become expert and proficient at it.

A wise man once said. "Investors don't like you, or your company. They don't care about your products. They just need to know how they are going to make money-or they'll get fired if they don't." And that wise man is Jimmy Treybig, partner at a venture capital firm New Enterprise Associates.

Report within the organizational structure. In the past, breaking news were taught to report only to the top executive, and to assume leadership rights in the organization. Today's specialists have to earn their leadership, and prove their contribution to the department executive.

Emergency procedures in an aircraft provide us with a useful analogy. Before we can go about providing assistance to those around us in an emergency situation, we first need to secure our own oxygen masks over our own faces. This may seem selfish at first, but it is the most selfless action we can take in the moment. Failing to take care of ourselves first may result in us and the people relying on our help losing consciousness. One of the characteristics of effective Leadership Development is learning to live our own life and follow our own passions. It is this kind of life that gives rise to the positivity and health in us that we can then pass on to others.

Training should be designed so that you can enter the training process when it suits you, the trainee. Well designed and constructed training meets trainee needs. Trainees should be able to join and leave the training as it suits their needs, not locked into a process that puts the needs of the training provider as first priority.
After a short while, "Jane", a petite young woman, came to greet me and invited me into her office. She asked me the usual interview questions we are all familiar with: what type of work I had performed in the past, what were my strengths and weaknesses, what was I looking for in a position, and so on. She paused for a moment and inquired after my education: a Master's Degree in Human Resources Management, two Graduate Certificates in Organizational Development and Instructional Design, and a PHR (Professional in Human Resources) Certification. She also noted I was pursuing yet another Master's Degree in Liberal Arts - which is more of a personal growth goal to me.

Recession Slayer #3: Get Some Friends: Recession hits all business and those in your area, industry and outside are looking for help too. Now is a very good time to develop mutually beneficial partnerships. In simple terms you offer your products/services to another companies' customers and they do the same in return.

How many times have organizations created very expensive solutions that perpetuate the problem instead of tackling the real issues preventing business growth and a high performance culture?
