As long as you aren't one of them, this simply means more to go around to those left standing. And even in a much smaller market, that can feel pretty good. So, sometimes, just surviving can be a path to success.

It is only in the past decade that a growing portion of the literature is concentrating on Leadership Development from the inside out. Instruction on the web is generally poor. I've said the same for two years. Some web instruction is appallingly poor. Very, very little is very good or even good. You've probably been frustrated by the inadequate instruction that's accompanied some package you've bought on the web. The packages are prepared by subject matter experts, not experts in instruction and Instructional Design. The subject matter experts simply don't know what they don't know. Their lack of instructional design skills limits the value of their expertise.

4) Give the economy a chance to turn around - Things aren't going to get better immediately, so in the meantime, stop worrying about finding a new job. Stick with the one you have (no matter how bad it may be) and have your continuing education be your saving grace while you zone out during your next staff meeting. If you're not currently working, this could be a great time to focus entirely on school and potentially land an internship that can lead to a full-time offer before you graduate.
