The following are a list of the movies I have found to be powerful in team development. You may some of your own and by all means feel free to share with us your thoughts and how you used the movie. Many can be used for Leadership Development as well. This list is in no particular order.

One of my clients runs a Leadership Development firm. It's a small company with only a couple full-time employees, but because of a consistent focus on media relations, it has enjoyed media attention and awareness that belies its small size. My client says her competitors often comment that they "see her everywhere," and ask how she does it. Our approach is not difficult, it just requires a solid commitment to ongoing media relations.

2) You must learn communication and people skills. This is a people and Leadership Development business. Understand people and you will understand network marketing. There is NO system that replaces people completely. Learn the personality colors or styles. Learn the art of active listening. Understand human behavior. Every wealthy person knows how people think. Every successful network marketer that I know or have trained under, is a master of understanding people and behavior.

FACT: Most majors groom you for a range of careers. When you associate the skills you will learn in your major with others you will gain from full-time work, internships, and other activities, you will have the ability to shift in a variety of directions. Most people have numerous careers and jobs during their employment lives.

Write an article for publication in a local paper, professional journal or organizational newsletter. Do not discount that you are NOT knowledgeable or no one else would be interested in what you do for a living.

Any Industry has layers to make a whole and without the layers the whole can't exist. The whole is a group, who need to interact, and support each other. In retrospect, industry works because of the strength of the team. If you're trying and trying with burning passion for what you want to achieve in a career, and it isn't working for you, than you turned on the wrong faucet. The tub let's say has 20 knobs, all the taps drip into the same tub, but not all of them have an equal function.

I never understood why I had such an aversion to and trouble with numbers and mathematics. I wasn't stupid, I was reading before the end of kindergarten and have been devouring the written word ever since. English and history were easy subjects as were any others based on language and not numbers. Over the years I just decided I was 'stupid in math', that math was 'just not logical'. Then one day I mentioned in an online forum that I felt I had some sort of dyslexia but with numbers and not letters. Bingo! The answer came; perhaps I had Dyscalculia.

Continually improve your education and skills. The world doesn't stand still, and neither can you. The only way to stay ahead in this fast-paced era is to learn something new every day. Research what you don't know. Hire other development network clients to fill in the gaps in your expertise until you either have time to learn it. If you try to learn it all, you won't have time to do anything else. Hire specialists, consultants and sharp employees.

Report within the organizational structure. In the past, development network clients were taught to report only to the top executive, and to assume leadership rights in the organization. Today's specialists have to earn their leadership, and prove their contribution to the department executive.

The truly pricey SMEs are frequently way busy to turn up at a session or meeting. That's not a roadblock for us. Being designers we find the source content and move ahead in any case. We seek junior SMEs to help us in our venture. The research is done by us after all, understanding the content is the ground rule for an Instructional Design.

Sure, there is some bad eLearning out there. Just because someone can use eLearning authoring software, doesn't mean they know anything about adult learning principles. The same applies to face to face trainers - just because someone knows their subject well, doesn't mean they know how to transfer that knowledge into meaningful and engaging learning (telling isn't training!). Good trainers also have training skills, and good elearning courses have been built around solid Instructional Design principles.

For example, I have considered the possibility that I'll go into Instructional Design someday. I took a course in that in college, and it was a lot of fun. My college had a Master's Degree program for it, so if I want to do that in the future, I'll have to look at how I'd qualify for that program.
