South Korea To Charge Shincheonji Church Leader Over Coronavirus Spread Church Accused Of Hiding Information

Mainstream Christian churches in South Korea often deride the Shincheonji Church as a doomsday Coronavirus cult, and followers sometimes even hide their membership from family members. The agency said some church members in January visited the central Chinese city of Wuhan, where the disease emerged late last year, adding it was investigating to determine if the trip played a role in the outbreak.

A victims' group held a news conference in front of the South Korean presidential office on the morning of March 5 and announced that it would file a complaint about Shincheonji's alleged misconduct to President Moon Jae-in. Victims called for the return of their children it accuses Shincheonji of taking away from them, and for leader Lee's arrest.

We stayed in a hotel outside the city and the next day we drove with busses to a parking lot, next to a big stadium, which turned out to be the main stadium built for the 1988 Summer Olympics.
