888 is one of the fastest growing online poker sites in the industry. A recent major software upgrade has put them along side the industry leaders and they're now ranked as one of the top 5 poker rooms in the world.

Software

The lobby is easy to navigate with an extremely user friendly 'Favourites' tab. The filters in the lobby are slightly basic, which makes it hard to filter out undesired games/stakes which wastes time looking for the games you love to play. The table computer software is excellent, simple to use and very clear for the user to operate. Multi-tabling is also quite simple with a queuing system, but it doesn't always work as well as it does on other poker sites.

Customer care

The customer service is very good with 'Live Chat' in operation therefore you don't have to wait ages for an email response. Email can be available with standard reply times.

Tournament Schedule

Their tournament schedule is good with mixed buy-ins that start regularly and they use synchronized breaks which supports multi-siting. Their Sit n Go's usually takes a while to fill up, especially at medium stakes and above. The poor standard of play absolutely makes up for the little extra wait though. Their big weekly tournament is a $100, 000GTD 1 rebuy game with a $90 buy-in and an $82 re-buy available.

Cash Game Traffic

Cash game traffic has much improved recently and they now offer webcam tables so you can not only play your opponents, but see them too, making it the most real poker experience yet. They offer the usual wide selection of stakes however the large percentage of traffic is micro stakes with very few games running at high stakes.

Rake

The rake may be the only real downside to 888poker. Their cash rake is capped at $4 which will be $1 above the industry standard so playing at 888poker is more expensive, however the lack of good players as a result of this reason comprises for that. Their Sit n Go rake is also slightly on the high side but 888poker remains a good site to play on also to make money on.
