A Leap Of Faith: How An Int’l Student Escaped A Cult
De CidesaWiki
Most of us think we have a clear idea of what cults are, and how to avoid them. But in reality, many religious cults have diverted themselves from their previous "strange and sinister" image, and it is the seemingly innocuous ones that should be watched out for. According to Ian Haworth, founder of the British organization Cult Information Centre, even the most strong-willed and educated people can be victims of cult brainwashing.
We conducted this study as a legally mandated public health investigation under the authority of the Korean Infectious Diseases Control and Prevention Act (nos. 40 years of age in nonhousehold settings. We detected COVID-19 in 11.8% of household contacts; rates were higher for contacts of children than adults. ]) for household contacts of children 0-9 years in the middle of school closure. Despite closure of their schools, these children might have interacted with each other, although we do not have data to support that hypothesis. Our observation has several limitations. First, the number of cases might have been underestimated because all asymptomatic patients might not have been identified. In addition, detected cases could have resulted from exposure outside the household.

On 21 April 2018, North Korea announced a halt to nuclear and intercontinental ballistic missile testing. As South Korea’s new COVID-19 cases spike to levels not seen in five months, the United States and South Korea are learning a great deal about the trade-offs and risks associated with maintaining military readiness during the pandemic. Earlier this spring, the two countries canceled a scheduled exercise due to the coronavirus.
A major factor shaping South Korea's response was its ability to apply lessons learned during previous outbreaks, especially the country’s MERS coronavirus outbreak in 2015, which resulted in 186 cases and 38 deaths. In the immediate aftermath, South Korea's legislature created the legal foundation for a comprehensive strategy for contact tracing—whereby anyone who has interacted with an infected person is traced and placed in quarantine.
