Police in Rochester found a mentally ill man who they said had escaped from a South Side apartment in recent days and had been threatening to kill his roommate and a friend, the Times Union reported.
Officers began looking for a masked intruder in the 17th-area apartment complex early Saturday morning, and arrived to find the 32-year-old man with multiple gunshot wounds. The man, whose name police did not disclose, was transported to Cooper University Hospital, where he was being treated Saturday. He is in stable condition, 바카라 according to the police.
"The victim was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, which was covered with tape, that was hanging from his body when he was taken," Officer James DeLuca, spokesman for the Rochester Police Department, said in a telephone interview. "When officers entered the building in an attempt to take the suspect into custody, he jumped out, pointed a handgun at them and got away from the building and started shooting again at officers."
The man is described as 5 feet 7 inches tall, 150 pounds with brown eyes and light brown hair and was last seen wearing a blue parka, blue pants and light brown shoes.
Officers continued to search for a person of interest Saturday evening, and officers are asking anyone with any information to call them at 785-727-9099.
