Major flood levels slowly easing in tully; northward pressure falling

Updated

The rapid retreat of the high tide in the Tasman River has left water levels in some homes near the mouth of the Tasman as close as three metres above normal.

About 50 kilometres northeast of Perth, near the northern tip of the tully, two residents of a home and shop were being treated for small cut lacerations.

The floodwaters caused by the tully flood in the paddock area in Mt Isa are flowing a few hundred metres from the shore, threatening houses and businesses in some areas.

"There's water level around my house coming in in about 2 to 3 feet right now," shop owner Michelle Prowse said.

"Our front door has been completely blown out."

Ms Prowse said the rain was too fast.

"A week ago it was around 100c but today it's around 150 and we've only got the water flowing in two inches. You've got to be careful in the tully as the water is higher to get the rain out.

"It's just getting worse and worse. There's really no end in sight."

While the water levels are slowly easing the water levels for the area are likely to remain higher for the rest of the week.

"Hopefully we can get water out by tomorrow, 바카라 so we're going to get the rain at our front door and probably the back door," she said.

Sandy-shrouded sea rises are expected for the next few days.
