RUSSIA'S STRATEGY OVER THE SOVIET UNION

After an exhaustive study of the Russian military budget and the Russian economy in the period between 2014 and 2016, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov recently declared that it will be necessary to "defy" NATO if it wants to "win" the conflict with Ukraine, with an increasing emphasis on the word "win" in reference to the Russian people's support for Russian military aggression and 바카라 the subsequent loss of life.

These statements are the product of an exhaustive study carried out by Moscow's Foreign Ministry and experts from the Russian Institute of International Affairs (RIIA). RIA's report, "Putin's strategy over Ukraine," and the other reports issued by RIA do not take into account the political crisis in Ukraine and a massive anti-Russian propaganda campaign designed to drive the Russian people to reject the legitimacy of Western leadership in Russia.

The report concludes, "Russia is unlikely to win a single battle over Ukraine, if it wants to fight in Ukraine and secure a permanent foothold." This is precisely because the Kremlin's policy goal of an independent Ukraine based on Russia's natural resources—from which it derives more than half of its annual budget—has become a central part of its propaganda agenda. The goal of "defending" Russia's natural resources and undermining the capacity of the West to control a country like Ukraine is nothing more than a means of ensuring Russian dominance over the world in the next decades, and it will continue to happen as long as the West continues to ignore the threat posed by the Kremlin in order to protect the interests of its corporate oligarchs.

The new strategy of "defy" NATO—which was announced at the Moscow talks on December 26 in the Russian city of Rostov–on-Don—could be a serious challenge to the alliance's commitment to defending Europe. By "defying" NATO's territorial integrity and collective defense, the Russian Foreign Ministry is trying to justify itself on behalf of the Kremlin and to present a case that Russian imperialism needs to be defended in all its bases in order to ensure that it has its way with other countries, in order to ensure its existence in the long run.

What is necessary for the U.S. administration to do in such a situation is to understand why the U.S. has not done anything for a long time over the situation in Ukraine. In particular, there is a need for the U.S. administration to recognize that Russian and NATO aggression is directly against the interests of the U.S., and for the White House to publicly and aggressively criticize the way the Obama administration deals with Russia through economic sanctions, and the way i
