While India has taken more steps to put more stringent control on Pakistani nuclear activities, India and Pakistan have also made efforts to set the tone for future nuclear cooperation under Article 4 of the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty to ensure non-proliferation remains at the centre of all efforts and activities by all nuclear-weapon states.

Kumar added that the two sides had reached a settlement for the three "unfinished questions" arising out of last year's nuclear talks and that India has been working with Pakistan hard to achieve agreement on them.

"I think we have arrived at a satisfactory resolution. It's not just one question. There have been other unfinished questions that Pakistan has put up on the table," he concluded.

The two sides also agreed to explore technical cooperation and dialogue and develop technical cooperation between India and Pakistan to support India's nuclear development efforts.
