Corduroy smocks and knicker-bucker suits. Fashion designers of the 1960s encountered a subtle revolt from the youths; hippies and mods who felt Parisian haute couture need not have the "exclusive rights" to fashion and style. Thereafter evolved an internationalization of the fashion scene with the rich and trendy shopping happily in London and Paris, as they also did in New York and Rome. The French no longer enjoyed the exclusive rights to couture fashion in the 60s and though some of the fashion is still reckoned with today in the 21st century, the sixties youth demanded a deviation from their high-end styles. Fashion was initially carried over from the 50s, but they only seemed to look great on older and mature women, a style that meant ‘drab’ to the young and upcoming "fashionistas". Soon, little shops called boutiques promoting fashion design clothes started to spring up, and suddenly, haute couture took on a different perspective.

And, they make me happy, as clothes do only if they reflect my reality, not the demands of the world. Anyway, I returned a few days later and bought some blue jeans, some leggings, some sneakers and a hoodie from the jumble of cheap womens clothing stores. Styles are often unisex these days anyway and all these items, even the leggings, could be worn by men or women pretty indifferently. Which suits me perfectly right now. I did go more feminine than this recently, including proper care over my makeup and hair, and remembered to take some photos out on the terrace. I'm on the top floor part way up a steep mountainside so the views are pretty impressive and I've tried to capture some of that in the photo above. As in my previous post, I have also, and not before time, updated my blogroll. Must try to get a suitable index or system of links to help navigate.

Workers were pictured toiling in the midday heat, setting up canopies and seating areas for outside beach bars. Sun-seekers were required to respect social distancing rules, which even stipulated how far umbrellas must be kept apart. Guidelines stated no more than 40 people were allowed per 1,000 square metres (10,750 sq ft), while umbrella poles had to be four metres (13 ft) apart, with canopies no closer than one metre, according to a government-issued manual, complete with diagram. Workers carry a scaffolding on "Paradise" beach in the Greek Cycladic island of Mykonos. At Alimos, a popular beach just south of Athens, people queued up from early morning to nab their spot in the sunshine. 70-year-old local Yannis Tentomas told Reuters, as he settled down under an umbrella. Italy and France have also started to ease people back into a degree of normality, hoping to keep the virus at bay and avoid a deadly second spike while breathing life back into their respective economies.

An aspiring jockey who became paralysed after falling from a racehorse has lost more than $100,000 in workplace reparations. She had 'limited experience' riding horses but her former employer, racehorse trainer Stephen John McKee, let her ride a working racehorse. Ms Malthus eventually lost control of the animal, causing her to fall and severely injure her spine, leaving her wheelchair-bound for the rest of her life. Mr McKee pleaded guilty to failing to ensure the Ms Maltus' safety and was made to pay $262,000 (AU$244,472) in consequential loss reparations at Auckland District Court last year. Sophia Malthus' consequential loss reparations were slashed by $106,000 last week. She attended a riding course at an equestrian centre in November 2016 but overall has 'limited experience riding and caring for horses'. Her riding instructors advised her to gain experience on quiet horses as she lacked the strength and training to ride an average racehorse or a young horse.

In 2006, Laidley had sought counselling after being 'haunted' by the image of a fan he clashed with during a game, who later committed suicide. The man, a Kangaroos member in his late 30s, was hit by a train at Seaford on the Frankston line almost 14 years ago to the month. Laidley had twice had words with the Kangaroos fan as he walked through the crowd to address his players during a clash with St Kilda. The ugly clash was captured on TV and the AFL was forced to investigate. I am distraught and feel for the family,' Laidley said, fighting back tears at the time. I just can't believe someone's passed away. I am still coming to terms with that. Laidley reiterated that he had merely invited the man down to the rooms after the second clash to see how much the players were hurting. I am haunted by his image,' Laidley said. Sources have claimed that Laidley's lifestyle choices were well known among his mates and in AFL circles and had become accepted.
