Court hears evidence in arson committal of man accused of throwing burning oil on church during Holy Week celebrations

The blaze, which occurred at the Christian Parish in north Dublin, 바카라 started within an hour of the Christmas season and 바카라 consumed the church at 10am, according to police.

Officers have said they can't explain how someone could be so careless and burn a church for three hours without any other evidence being found.

Inspector John O'Regan of Dublin City Fire Service and Assistant Garda Inspector Mick Fitzgerald are due to stand down until their investigations are completed and a senior criminal investigation into the case is taken forward.

Officers said last night that the fire started after a man, identified as Paul, had put a lighter together and lit a cigarette out of it.

Mr O'Regan said he heard a loud bang as the fire started and feared his own house had been deliberately set on fire - a theory which he has since rejected.

Garda Fitzgerald later admitted that he may have started the fire from a place where there is a light.
