Jones tumbles from celebrity to pariah as the FBI investigates his alleged sexual assault of a woman in the 1990s.

After 13 years as a hit man on the NYPD's East and West Side, the infamous NYPD-turned-FBI informant Robert 'Shady' Hayes was arrested in 2007 for his own part in an extensive and bizarre conspiracy.

On a tour bus in Las Vegas, Hayes sat in the passenger seat of another car, and the driver asked him if he was ready to sell the information to the FBI.

Hayes, who was known as the 'Shady' because he was seen on the TV show NYPD Blue, admitted he had met up with his old friend in Brooklyn a decade before, and had helped him secure his release from prison in the '90s.

"I had been a hitman for a long time and had done some good in the NYPD as far as I know," Hayes confessed. "At one point, you think of it as a lifestyle. Then you try to get out of it and you realize it doesn't necessarily lead to wealth."

When the driver asked if he had heard of 'The Sopranos,' Hayes said: "No, not really. And I think it was really in 'Mad Men' -- or they were like 'You're really like 'The Sopranos,'" adding, "The Sopranos was about as American as American gets, though."

Hayes had worked for several police forces and had become a hit man for 바카라 the Mob. His work for the NYPD was the last straw, and as part of his plea bargain he admits taking part in a plot to pay off a number of influential men.

The conspiracy worked like this: Hayes hired a man called John DellaFave to kill one of the men who he claimed had tried to kill him -- but when DellaFave got wind of the deal, he was gone by the time Hayes got home. The plan was discovered when Hayes' wife went to a police station and told them that DellaFave had been murdered, and asked the officer who was responsible.

"I don't think you can even see it. I believe that they were watching my wife from the other window watching what I was doing, watching everything," Hayes recalled.

The officer refused to comment about the case until he took his leave of the agency and later came out and testified that he had ordered a hit on DellaFave that the informant planned to complete with the help of two others.

The man Hayes was following was called William 'Jerry' 'Faz' Jones, and 바카라 they worked together to bring down the man that Hayes believed could bring ruin to his life, according to testimony from Hayes' former girlfriend.
