Reforming migrant worker schemes for horticulture workers in Bangladesh has been in the pipeline for some time but is now looking forward to receiving official approval from the government.
On Thursday, the World Organisation for Animal Health (OIE) and Bangladesh Department of Animal Husbandry submitted the final environmental risk assessment and implementation plans for reforming migrant worker schemes for horticulture workers.
The schemes will be reformed under the World Trade Organization rules in line with their legal requirements, according to an OIE press statement.
The new schemes, introduced under the labour and employment provisions of the Bangladesh Hinterland Agreement with the World Trade Organization, are designed to assist migrant workers with their labor or employment needs.
Among other things, the scheme will provide support for 바카라 vocational training, vocational training assistance and placement, as well as to help the country in facilitating the integration of foreign workers, particularly those who migrate to agriculture for farm work.
Among the other aspects of these schemes is that the working visa will be issued for the purpose of allowing those who have been approved for a provisional working visa under the OIE legislation to work permanently in Bangladesh.
The scheme also includes the creation of a number of temporary employment agencies for foreigners who are needed for the implementation of this scheme, among them an agency for foreign migrant workers, an NGO for international development services, a recruitment agency for foreign migrants, and a recruitment agency for HFTs to recruit foreign HFTs.
Among the schemes for reforms of the migrant worker schemes are an effort to create a new employment facility in order to address the shortage of foreign labourers in the horticultural sector.
The first draft of the project is likely to be approved by the Ministry of Labour and Employment within 18 months.
